If You Fail To Plan…

I don’t know if this is common or not, but I’ve always thought of the week as the time to get things done, and the weekend as the time to do fun things I don’t have time for during the week. The only ‘constructive’ things I do are grocery shopping and gym time on Sunday. There’s some tidying up as needed, but otherwise, weekend time is fun time.

I think that’s backward, at least for me. I think more successful people see the weekend as the time to get more done, without the distraction of having to go to work for eight or more hours a day. I’m pretty sure that’s what I need to do.

The main obstacle is being without structure, unless I have an appointment or a class scheduled. As they say, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail… so I’m going┬áto plan my free days before they happen, so all I have to do is follow through on the decisions I already made.

This has little to do with writing, except that I’m more productive during planned writing times. Something to think about. Now it’s time to head over to the gym! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend and a restful (or productive?) Sunday.
